A member of the communities cutlure and history is Richard Vivian, owner of Rooky Richardo’s Records in Lower-Haight (448 Haight St.).

The shop began 25 years ago as a space to house his collection of vinyl records. His storage slowly grew into a library of music where soul seekers could stop by to listen and discover music dating back to 1950′s. It takes only a few minutes listening at his store, to appreciate Dick’s passion for soul music. He’s an active member of the community, as a store owner and DJ of soul parties in the city.

It was an amazing experience learning about his craft and product, as well as the story of each piece of material used. Dylan says it best in his own words so I’ll let him state it in the full length piece.

-Nick
